Coffee, Anyone?

This is a test of putting a video on my blog. This is only a test. If this would have been an actual emergency, I wouldn't be blogging right now.

I think it works! A funny video for those of you who follow SCL. What if Starbucks marketed like the church? It makes me a little uneasy to think about "marketing" Jesus. He is so much more than a "culturally relevent" product! But it is very good to remember how those unfamiliar with the church may see us...

Ouch! (But they're talking about "regular church", not us uber cool church planters!)

That is the most awesomest thing EVER! Tamara is here. We just watched it together.

It's funny and pathetic all rolled into one! I'm gonna forward this to a bunch of pastors "anonymously"

Okay. Me again! That video is just chock full of churchy stuff I've done or seen other people do. If you have a hit counter and you get a lot more site views than usual, it's probably me back to watch that dang video again!

Oh my word. This quite possibly made my day...no my month. Hilarious and terribly sad that we are that rediculous.

"Java-luah!"

Yay! I'm glad you both liked it. I shamelessly stole it from a blog of a youth pastor I know. But in return I gave him a link to SCL. Java-lluia (How do you SPELL it?) was my favorite too!

I loved the "who has never been to a Starbucks before raise your hand" part. I got hit with that as a visitor a a lot, too. Most of the time Catholic Churches don't do that, but I go hit with that twice in Catholic Churches while on vacation.
I was expecting him to tell newcomers that they did not need to add to the tip jar, and then proceed to remind the rest of why they ought. Another thing I haven't seen in Catholic Churches. But, to be fair, when my mom and I would visit a Protestant church and the pastor would say this, she would always mention how impressed she was that he would do that.

Hilarious! But, I don't get the letters on the barrista's apron. I'm out of the loop, I guess?

Holy mackerel Beth THAT was hilarious. Being from the coffee melting pot of America (the Great Northwest) that is not far off as to how important coffee is to people!

As far as representing a church...YIKES! I think making those things absurd really shows us how easy it is for a church body to lose focus of what it's really all about. Loving God and loving people...
