Peace

Last February, I surprised my husband by taking him to a concert for his birthday along with a night without the kiddos in beautiful, exotic, Champaign, IL. We went to see Sanctus Real at a big church there. At the concert, I heard this song for the first time. Since then, it has received quite a bit of air play on the Christian radio station around here. My friend gave me a copy of the CD. You know when you have those songs that follow you around? This is mine for 2008. Quite possibly the best lyric ever: "Whatever you're doing inside of me, it feels like chaos, but somehow there's peace."
Chaos of life + Getting to know Jesus = Peace that passes all logical or emotional understanding.

Kudos to the Sanctus Real guy for not caving into his bandmates' love of "guy in a band" hair. Although it still looks like he just got out of bed. (Really, Beth? Are you back on that hair thing AGAIN?? You may have a problem that needs counseling...or at least a better stylist)

Whatever You're Doing (Something Heavenly)

It's time for healing, time to move on
It's time to fix what's been broken too long
Time make right what has been wrong
It's time to find my way to where I belong
There's a wave that's crashing over me
All I can do is surrender

Whatever you're doing inside of me
It feels like chaos somehow there's peace
It's hard to surrender to what I can't see
But I'm giving in to something heavenly

Time for a milestone
Time to begin again
Re-evaluate who I really am
Am I doing everything to follow your will
or just climbing aimlessly over these hills
So show me what it is you want from me
I give everything, I surrender...
To...

Whatever you're doing inside of me
It feels like chaos somehow there's peace
It's hard to surrender to what I can't see
But I'm giving in to something heavenly

Time to face up
Clean this old house
Time to breathe in and let everything out
That I've wanted to say for so many years
Time to to release all my held back tears

Whatever you're doing inside of me
It feels like chaos but I believe
You're up to something bigger than me
Larger than life something heavenly

Whatever you're doing inside of me
It feels like chaos but now I can see
This something bigger than me
Larger than life something heavenly
Something heavenly

It's time to face up
Clean this old house
Time breathe in and let everything out

The words are beautiful. My computer is stubborn today and will not allow me to watch videos. I'll come back later to watch and listen. The lyrics are poignant, though.

wv restr I will listen to the restr that song later.

That is awesome with a capital awe....

Love that song and they lyrics. I'm not distracted by the lead guy's hair, but isn't that the Unibomber playing the bass?

Beautiful.

I love the lyrics, and I love this guys unique and easy voice.

Again, no Michael Bolton,(or TUPAC) but hey, I know a good song when I hear one.

I'm gonna' have to get a CD of this group. I really do like this song.

veri word:"persed"

When you hit someone with your handbag...considered them "persed"!

My friend Angie told me about this song after I had my miscarriage. She thought of me when she heard it. Although I am not sure the verses necessarily pertained to the situation, I do love the chorus. If only we could see the result of what He's doing.

That is a great song... I like the part about chaos and peace too. The part I don't like is when it keeps saying over & over [actually only twice] 'Clean this old house'! It reminds me of what I should be doing instead...but this so much more fun... *sigh*

Great post, Beth [as always]

WV: distrar- This old house is a regular 'distrar'! Why aren't you cleaning?!?!?!?

Helen- We need to get you a new computer. But then again, it may be that a new version of Adobe Flash is out and I had to upgrade a couple days ago before this video would play for me. Try that. Ooooo...I sound computer smart.

Sherri- Their previous album is good, too. I highly recommend free napster to take a listen to everything and decide what you like best. But I'm cheap like that.

Kathy- Haha. Unibomber. I thought the guy at the beginning of the video looks like Jim Gaffigan when he has the beard. But I knew that would totally distract you...

Amy- We'll have to wait until heaven to see the results and understand the "whys", I suppose, which is long wait on some days. I hadn't thought about this song in the physical inside kind of way. Glad your friend shared this song with you!
